RIVETCAL · COMING SOON

Your calendar, as a real desktop app.

Your most important app shouldn't be one of a hundred browser tabs. RivetCal keeps every Google and Outlook calendar in one window that stays signed in, puts your day in the menu bar, and makes a Meet or Teams link in one click.

ⓘWorks with Google Calendar and Outlook. Connect Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook.com and Hotmail accounts. Microsoft 365 work accounts may need your IT team's approval first. iCloud and other calendars aren't supported yet.

WHY WE BUILT IT

No more hunting for a password two minutes before a meeting.

Google Calendar used to live somewhere in hundreds of open tabs. Every so often Google signed us out just before a call, and we'd be scrambling for a password as the meeting started. Setting up a quick team call meant too many clicks to create a Meet link and add people.

RivetCal fixes all of that. Your calendar has its own window and stays signed in. Your next meeting is always in the menu bar, and a Meet link takes one click. It covers the calendar features you use every day, plus things a browser tab can't do.

MENU-BAR CALENDAR

Check your day without opening a window.

Click the RivetCal icon in your menu bar or system tray to see this month, today's meetings and what's up next. When a meeting is about to start, Join is right there.

  • Month at a glance, with dots for busy days
  • Up next countdown with Join and Copy link
  • Today's events in order
QUICK MEET · TRY IT

A Meet or Teams link in one click.

Need a quick call with the team? Click Quick Meet link, or press ⌘⇧M (Ctrl+Shift+M on Windows), and RivetCal creates a Google Meet link, or a Teams link for Outlook calendars, and copies it for you. Paste it into a chat and you're ready to go. It works from the menu bar too, without opening the main window.

  • Create a Meet link with one click or a shortcut
  • Link copied to your clipboard automatically
  • Join straight away, or add it to a new event
+ New event⌘N

Click Quick Meet link to try it.

PICK A TIME · TRY IT

Choose a time that works for everyone.

No more typing times into a box. Click a time to pick from a list, set the length with one click, and RivetCal warns you before you book over someone. Guests' busy times come from Google or Microsoft 365, so you can see when everyone is free.

  • Pick start and end times from a list, or type "9p" or "930"
  • One-click lengths: 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, 1 hour and more
  • Warns you about clashes with your events and your guests' busy times
  • Find a time: the next slots where everyone is free
  • A day view where you drag the meeting to move or resize it
  • Type "tomorrow 3pm for 45m" and it fills in the rest

Questions

Does RivetCal work with Outlook?

Yes. RivetCal works with Google Calendar and Outlook, including Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook.com, Hotmail and Microsoft 365 accounts, all in the same week view. iCloud and other calendars aren't supported yet.

Why does my work Outlook account need admin approval?

Some companies only allow apps their IT team has approved. If Microsoft asks for admin approval when you connect a work account, your IT team can allow RivetCal in a minute. Personal Outlook.com and Hotmail accounts can connect right away.

How do updates work?

RivetCal checks for new versions on its own. When one is ready, it tells you what's new and installs it with one click, on both Mac and Windows.

Why not just use Google Calendar in a browser?

Because it gets lost among your tabs and can sign you out when you least expect it. RivetCal is always one click away in its own window and in the menu bar, stays signed in, and adds things a tab can't, like one-click Meet links and a menu-bar calendar.

What is RivetCal built with?

RivetCal is built on Electron, the same technology behind many well-known desktop apps, so it works the same on Mac, Windows and, soon, Linux.

Can you see my calendar?

No. RivetCal connects your computer directly to Google and Microsoft. Your events are stored on your computer and never pass through our servers.

Do I need a Google or Microsoft account?

Yes. RivetCal shows calendars from Google and Outlook, and you sign in on Google's or Microsoft's own sign-in page. RivetCal never sees your password.

Is RivetCal made by Google or Microsoft?

No. RivetCal is an independent app that uses Google's and Microsoft's official calendar services.

When can I get it?

RivetCal is coming soon for macOS (Apple silicon) and Windows 11, with Linux after that. Pricing will be announced at launch.
